<p><strong>Background</strong></p> <p>In recent years, the use of bioinputs has increased significantly as a viable alternative to conventional pest control methods and synthetic pesticides in agriculture. In Brazil, initiatives under the National Program of Bioinputs, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, aim to stimulate economic, social, and environmental development by fostering innovation in this field. One such initiative is the establishment of the Center of Excellence in Bioinputs (Cebio), which seeks to advance research and development in this area.</p> <p>In this context, the present Special Issue aims to highlight and promote advancements related to biofertilizers, biopesticides, and other biobased products. It also welcomes contributions on microbial fermentation, biomaterials, and emerging technologies associated with bioinputs. Review articles are also encouraged, particularly those addressing current trends, innovations, and challenges in the development and application of bioinputs.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Potential topics include, but are not limited to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Emerging trends in the extraction, purification, isolation, and characterization of bioinputs</li> <li>Novel biological assays to evaluate the biological efficacy of bioinputs</li> <li><em>In silico</em> approaches applied to the discovery of bioinputs, particularly when accompanied by <em>in vitro</em> validation of biological activity</li> <li>Expansion of microbial collections with biotechnological potential, especially native species from the Brazilian Cerrado</li> <li>Advances in the optimization of biofactories for on-farm application</li> <li>Challenges in the establishment and operation of laboratories for bioinput quality analysis and certification</li> <li>Application of analytical techniques for the bioprospecting of biologically active natural products for use as bioinputs</li> <li>Innovations in dose-response methodologies applied to research on bioactive natural products</li> <li>Bioprospecting of plant, fungal, microbial, and marine species, with emphasis on biodiversity from the Brazilian Cerrado, for the discovery of novel bioinputs</li> <li>Biophysical characterization of interactions between bioinputs and their biological targets</li> </ul> <p> </p>
